The story of LuK (Lamellen und Kupplungsbau) begins in 1965, when entrepreneurs Georg and Wilhelm Schaeffler, already known for their work with INA, decided to found a new company in Bühl, Germany dedicated exclusively to the development of clutches and transmission systems.

From its early days, LuK has opted for innovation and precise engineering, designing components that would not only withstand the demands of modern traffic, but also offer greater driving comfort and less mechanical wear.
