Magneti Marelli car components
Innovative solutions
The story of Magneti Marelli began in 1919, when the company was founded in Milan, Italy, as a joint venture between Fiat and Ercole Marelli, a pioneer in electrical engineering. His initial goal was to manufacture electrical components for vehicles, at a time when mobility was beginning to completely transform.
During the 20th century, Magneti Marelli became one of the leading manufacturers of electrical and electronic systems for automobiles, specializing in:
- Starter motors and alternators
- Smart lighting and LED headlights
- Electronic injection and engine electronics
- Active suspensions, control modules and telematics
- Technology applied to competition (Formula 1, MotoGP)
Its presence in the most demanding races not only elevated its prestige, but also allowed the brand to bring what it learned on the track to everyday vehicles. With a clear philosophy: Innovation must be robust, but also refined.
Over time, Magneti Marelli became independent from Fiat and expanded its operations worldwide, establishing factories in Europe, Asia, and America. 2019, the company was acquired by CK Holdings (Calsonic Kansei), forming the global group Marelli, which today drives advanced solutions in electric mobility, automotive software, and autonomous driving.
Its business lines include lighting, engine control, electronic systems, suspensions, exhaust systems, and competition.
Magneti Marelli has more than 50 plants and 30 research and development centers in several countries around the world, including Spain, where it has a factory in Llinars del Vallès (Barcelona) that produces automotive spare parts. Magneti Marelli is an innovative, quality company that offers comprehensive solutions for the automotive sector.
